1. Overview
Lab 221 Ventures Inc.(“we,” “us,” or “our”) operates the ShowSkiPro mobile application and related web services (collectively, the “App”). This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect, why we collect it, how we use and protect it, and your rights as a user.
We are subject to the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA), federal privacy legislation applicable across Canada, as well as applicable Ontario privacy principles.
2. Information We Collect
We collect only the information necessary to provide the App’s functionality.
2.1 Account and Profile Information

2.2 Membership and Activity Data

- Certifications and skill capabilities (e.g., trick IDs)
2.3 Device Information
- Push notification token (to deliver in-app notifications to your device)
- Device platform (iOS or Android) for notification delivery
2.4 Technical Data
- Session tokens, stored encrypted on your device
- API access logs retained by our database provider for security purposes
3. How We Use Your Information
We use your information only to:
- Authenticate you and maintain your account session
- Display your profile to authorized members of your club
- Enable scheduling, attendance tracking, and club communications
- Send you push notifications you have enabled (show reminders, assignments)
- Respond to your requests, including account deletion
We do not use your information for advertising, profiling beyond App functionality, or sale to third parties.
4. Legal Basis for Processing
Under PIPEDA, we collect and use personal information only with your knowledge and consent. By accepting the Terms of Use and using the App, you consent to the collection and use described in this Policy. You may withdraw consent at any time by deleting your account (see Section 8).
Where a club administrator creates a profile on your behalf (common for minor athletes), the club administrator is responsible for ensuring appropriate authorization has been obtained.
5. Sharing and Disclosure
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only in the following limited circumstances.
5.1 Within Your Club
Your profile information is visible to other authenticated members of the same club. Your full profile (including contact details) is visible to club directors and administrators.

Cross-border transfer notice (PIPEDA s. 4.1.3): Your personal data is stored and processed on servers located in the United States. By using the App, you acknowledge and consent to this transfer. We take contractual steps to ensure these providers protect your information to a standard comparable to Canadian privacy law.
5.3 Legal Requirements
We may disclose your information if required to do so by law or valid legal process, or if we believe disclosure is necessary to protect the rights, property, or safety of our users or the public.
6. Security
We use commercially reasonable technical safeguards to protect your personal information, including:
- Encrypted storage of session tokens on your device (iOS Keychain via
expo-secure-store) - Row-level security on our database — each user can only access data they are authorized to see
- HTTPS/TLS for all data in transit
- Restricted access to production systems
No system is perfectly secure. In the event of a data breach that creates a real risk of significant harm, we will notify affected users and relevant authorities as required by law.
7. Data Retention
We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active. Deleting your account (Profile → Account → Delete Account) permanently removes your personal data within 30 days, except where retention is required by law or for legitimate security purposes (e.g., brief audit logs).
8. Your Rights
Under PIPEDA and applicable Canadian law, you have the right to:
- Access the personal information we hold about you
- Correct inaccurate information (via Edit Profile in the App)
- Deleteyour account and associated data (Profile → Account → Delete Account)
- Withdraw consent to data processing (by deleting your account)
- Lodge a complaint with the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada (OPC) at www.priv.gc.ca

9. Children's Privacy
The App is designed for use by water ski clubs, which may include members under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 without verifiable parental or guardian consent through their club administrator. Club administrators who enroll minor members are responsible for ensuring appropriate consent has been obtained.
If you believe we have inadvertently collected information from a child under 13 without proper consent, please contact us at developer@lab221.com and we will promptly remove it.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes through the App. Your continued use of the App after the effective date of a revised Policy constitutes acceptance of the changes.
